Comedy
The comedy manga follows a male part-time late-night convenience store worker named Matsukoma, and the new part-time worker he trains named Tomoharu Nii, nicknamed Nietzsche-sensei. Tomoharu is a university student in the school's Buddhism department. When an angry customer screams at Tomoharu, "Customers are gods!," he replies, "God is dead." The manga follows the part-time worker life of Matsukoma and Tomoharu, the latter of whom continuously baffles his customers and co-workers at the convenience store with his odd ways. (Source: ANN)
Nietzsche-sensei: Conveni ni, Satori Sedai no Shinjin ga Maiorita is based off a popular series of Twitter posts detailing with lives of real-life convenience store employees. An audio drama CD adaptation was released on February 25, 2015. A 10-episode Yomiuri TV's live-action TV drama adaptation, written and directed by Yuuichi Fukuda, premiered on January 1, 2016. In a list of best-selling first volumes published in 2014, compiled by The Japan Publication Sales' Distribution Reform Group Comic Team, the series ranked number three. It also ranked number three on a list of the top 15 manga series containing less than five volumes, based on a poll conducted by the online bookseller Honya Club.
