Kindaichi Shounen no Jikenbo: File Series won the 19th Kodansha Manga Award in the Shounen categpry in 1995. The first 17 volumes of the series were published in English as The Kindaichi Case Files by Tokyopop from June 1, 2003, and May 13, 2008. The manga was adapted into multiple live-action TV series and video games.
