The story centers on Nagi Ooshima, a girl who is too conscious of everyone's mood and can't really get close to anyone. One day, she collapses from hyperventilation. After talking to her ex-boyfriend, she quits work, moves, and runs away from everything to start anew. (Source: ANN)

Nagi no Oitoma ranked third and 11th in the 2019 and 2020 Kono Manga ga Sugoi! for the Female Readers division, respectively. It won the Excellence Award at the 22nd Japan Media Arts Festival in 2019. In the same year, the series was nominated for the 12th Manga Taisho Award and the 43rd Kodansha Manga Awards in the Shoujo category. In 2020, the manga won the 65th Shogakukan Manga Award in the Shoujo category.
