Raoul Contesta is the main Pokémon Contest judge and also the Pokémon Contest director. He is usually the first one to comment on the Pokémon, and the one who offers advice to the Coordinators. When May kept forcing her Bulbasaur to continue battling in "Cruisin' for a Losin'" Contesta yelled at her for not knowing when to stop the battle, and criticized her for not caring about her Pokémon.
