His parents died in an accident when he was young, so he was taken in by a family friend and raised as Honoka's brother, though they are not blood-related. Honoka is very attached to him, and when he sees how distraught but supportive she is when she thinks he has a crush on a classmate, he realizes her true feelings and also his own.
