Sougen

Sougen is the protagonist of Bozu to Kumo, a traveling Buddhist monk. His obsession with monsters leads to agreeing to let Jinsuke the spider-demon tag along as a companion, though Jinsuke's affection and childish possessiveness are sometimes too much and make him lose his temper. Sougen is prone to randomly falling asleep for very long periods of time (even years) and others comment that he isn't human, though Sougen himself isn't interested in pursuing the thought further.
